In Her Own League was everything I wanted from a romance and more. From the moment I started reading, I was completely invested in the characters, their journey and, of course, the romance.

One of my favourite things about Liz Tomforde's books is how easy it is to connect with her characters. They feel like real people with their own personalities, flaws and emotional baggage, which makes their relationships feel all the more meaningful. I found myself genuinely caring about what happened to them and completely rooting for them throughout the story.

The romance was an absolute highlight. The chemistry between the main characters is impossible to ignore, but what I loved most was the emotional connection that developed alongside it. There are plenty of swoon-worthy moments and romantic tension, but the relationship also has depth, vulnerability and heart.

Liz Tomforde also has a wonderful ability to balance emotional moments with humour. One minute I was smiling at the characters' interactions and the next I was completely invested in the more emotional parts of their story. That balance makes her books incredibly easy to read and even harder to put down.

The pacing worked perfectly for me, with the story giving enough time for the characters and their relationship to develop while still keeping me eager to find out what would happen next. Every chapter pulled me further into the story, and before I knew it, I had reached the final page wishing there was more.

The supporting characters were another standout. They add so much personality and warmth to the story and help create a world that feels bigger than just the central romance. It is the kind of book that makes you want to spend even more time with every character.
